This song was written in honor of Sascha Jacobsen’s Grandmother, who passed on November 1st, 2019 (Día de los Muertos). A “Milonga” is one of the primary rhythms of Argentine Tango. In this case, the song is based on a “Milonga Campera” or “Countryside Milonga” which are much slower than the city Milongas which are fast and lively. The song begins with spooky sound effects created by the bass and violin, included a layer of 4 basses playing overdubbed harmonics used to create an ethereal chorus of otherworldly creatures.
