The Zamba is a beautiful folk rhythm of Argentina in 6/8 (Not related to the Brazilian Samba, but pronounced the same). This song is a tribute to the Spanish Jewish (Sephardic) roots of Sascha’s ancestors, who still spoke Ladino (Jewish Spanish) when they immigrated to the Americas in the 1900’s even thought they had left Spain 500 years earlier during the inquisition. The song features Ari Refusta playing the Bombo, a traditional drum used in the folk music of Argentina.
